Learning & Development

At Doodle Do, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a play based curriculum which lays out the standards of care, learning and development for all children aged 0-5 in England and Wales.

Adult support plays a huge role in a child's learning.  Where appropriate, the practitioners at Doodle Do will work alongside the child to complete a task, while at other times the child will be left to experiment.  There will also be times when practitioners teach children new skills.

There are two types of play; free play and adult directed play. To have the best impact on learning and development, children should be provided with both types of play.

At Doodle Do, we tailor the number and length of adult length activities appropriately to meet the age and ability needs of individual children.

Key Workers

Children at Doodle Do have a key worker, who will work closely with the child and their parents and carers to ensure they are safe and happy as well as to extend the child's learning.

Learning Journals

Children's progress is documented through observations, photos and art-work, which can be viewed by parents any time and provide a great keepsake.
